Silk Care

charmeuse, chiffon, habotai

NIKITA silks are woven from natural fibres — charmeuse, chiffon and habotai — and finished by hand. Silk is breathable, fluid, and responsive to the body. With care, it lasts decades.

Silk is sensitive to friction, heat, perfume, and prolonged direct sunlight. Treat it as a living material and it will move better the more you wear it.

How to Wash

Hand wash cold in a gentle, pH-neutral silk detergent, or dry clean only. Do not wring or twist — press gently between two towels to absorb moisture, then lay flat or hang to dry away from direct light.

How to Iron

Iron on the cool silk setting, on the reverse side, through a clean cotton cloth. Steam from a distance; never apply steam directly to printed or hand-painted silks.

How to Store

Store on a wide, padded hanger in a cool, dry wardrobe away from direct light. For longer storage, fold loosely between sheets of acid-free tissue. Avoid plastic garment bags — silk needs to breathe.

When in doubt, dry clean only.
